Self-development Goals 

Self-development goals help you to understand yourself better. You can understand your strengths, weaknesses, likes and dislikes. The better you understand yourself, the better is your decision making.  You set the right goals which create an ideal future for you. You get good at managing your time by avoiding any distractions and become more productive.

You will have more control over your life, in return you will be able to handle stress in a better way. You will have full control on your thoughts, emotions, decisions and the way you deal with problems. Your relationships will be more mature and will last forever.  You will have a better idea on what you need than what you want and in return you will have a balanced lifestyle with more control on your finances.

Read a lot

Reading is the best way to learn, self-teach and discover yourself and new information. Reading can help you to set new goals, understand your goals better and shows you a different path to achieve your goals. Reading improves your imagination and creativity. book-1659717_1280

It is difficult to find time to sit down and read, but I still try my best because reading is the best stress killer. Spending some time with a book, reading the fiction in the books takes me to amazing new places on vacation and helps me to forget all my troubles.

Reading is a great way to improve your writing, communication and vocabulary skills. Reading makes you feel more confident when you are communicating with anyone. Reading a variety of content allows you to think out of the box and expands your mind.

Early to bed early to rise

“Early to bed, early to raise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise” runs the proverb. This is rather not a goal but make this a habit.

pexels-photo-271818Early to raise is a good habit. The atmosphere is good, clam without any noise or dust. Morning hours are quiet and you feel very fresh. You will have enough time to exercise, take a clean bath and do other stuff in the morning.

Early raising is not as difficult as it seems. It’s all a matter of practice. To raise early in the morning, a person has to sleep early.

Do not let other people affect you in a negative way

One bad apple can spoil the whole bunch. Just like the metaphor, any people with negative thoughts can influence you very quickly. Be around with those people who bring best in you, not the stress in you.  criticism-440219_640

Negative people cause all the problems. It is because of them you change your attitude and behavior. You start feeling terrible in your life and forget all your strengths and worry about your weakness.

With negative people around you, you begin complaining a lot about people and you become a lot intolerant. You start imagining a lot about everything and think everyone is against you. Try to know the facts before you imagine about anything.

Try to identify this kind of people and stay far from these people physically and mentally. Take back your life from them and the negative thoughts that they imparted in you. Focus yourself on more productive things and gain back your control on your thoughts, behavior and feelings.

Do something every day to come closer to your dreams

It’s very easy to get caught up in the noise of your day or distractions from other people, but you need to realize that unless you develop a habit around spending time each day on your dream, it will never happen! It will just become a dream that so many people have, and that so few fulfill.

pexels-photo-279470You cannot achieve your goals overnight. You have to approach your goals step by step. List your goals as short term and long-term goals. Then start with baby steps to reach your goal.

Take one step every day from today and see how close you can get to your goal within a month. One step everyday builds your confidence. The momentum you create by taking one step everyday makes it easier to reach your goal. Within no time you realize that you are closer to your goals than you will ever be.

Categorize your goals into short and long-term goals. Make an action plan on achieving a goal. Writing down a goal and creating an action plan, clarifies a way on approaching a goal. Allocate time for your goal and make it a habit to work towards your goal every day. Focus on a single goal at a time. The important thing is, just START. Remember, tomorrow never comes. Make a start and take steps towards your goals.

Learn to say No

We presume that saying no is uncaring, even selfish, and fear that we are letting other people down. We also fear of being disliked, criticized, or risking a friendship. People with low self-confidence and self-esteem often feel nervous about provoking others and rate others’ needs more than their own. tree-trunk-1159013_640

Everyone knows that good fences make good neighbors. Building good fences—setting boundaries—is one of the most important skills to master for both personal and professional growth. And one of the most important aspects of a good fence is the ability to say no to the people, activities and engagements that we do not enjoy or that do not advance us personally or professionally.

If you want to say no, be firm and direct. Keep it simple and don’t over-apologize. You are not asking permission to say no.

Take some time before you say ‘yes’ to any invitations. No one can force you say yes, right away. Think if it is worth your precious time and analyze what are you going to get of this for the time that you spent.

Remember you’re turning down a request, not a person. People usually will understand that it is your right to say no, just as it is their right to ask the favor.

Be clear and honest with yourself about what you truly want. Get to know yourself better and examine what you really want from life.

Experience new things

When was the last time when a friend asked you What’s Up and you replied explaining an exciting experience that you had? Can you remember?

pexels-photo-386009Have you ever tried something out of your comfort zone? When we do try something out of our comfort zone, we ask ourselves: “Should I be doing this? Can I do this? Do I look stupid? What am I doing!?” While it may not feel like it, this is normal – and it’s good.

When you try new things, you discover that there is nothing as comfort zone. Surprisingly, everything seems to be comfortable. We go through life as if we do not have any choices and have no idea about what arouses us. Spend some time in trying new things so you can analyze what inspires us.

When you try new things, you grow as a person, develop your knowledge base and improve yourself for the better. Learning something new gets us access to new and different opportunities and the chance to try new experiences that might be the best ones you have ever tried!
Developing a new skill will influence the way you do things day to day and they will make doing things quicker and easier, saving time, energy and stress.

It is so important to try new things and push yourself out of your comfort zone. The potential benefits are really huge and to be honest, there is nothing to lose, so you should start today and learn something new!

 The best moments in our lives are not the passive, receptive, relaxing times… The best moments usually occur if a person’s body or mind is stretched to its limits in a voluntary effort to accomplish something difficult and worthwhile.
